Cased Austrian Occupation Medal

Cased Austrian Occupation Medal (Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 13 März 1938). The Commemorative Medal of 13 März 1938 was the first of the 'Anschluss' (Annexation), medal series and was instituted on 1 May 1938, for award to civilians and military personnel who participated in the annexation of Austria into Greater Germany. This is a nice example having great detail, the medal comes on its original confectioned ribbon, stored in its red coloured etui as found together. The etui is showing normal traces of usage. The etui is complete with its original blue paper label from the 'Hauptmünzamt' from Wien (Vienna). Nice set in good used condition.
