US Late 19th, Early 20th Century Toy Steel Cannon

Original era manufacture. Small black painted steel cannon which measures 4.5 inches overall. It is mounted to a oak or walnut wooden base and held in place with three small brass screws. The spring-loaded breech folds down and a small steel arm pivots over and holds it in place. A short lanyard attached to the securing arm allows the breech to slam forward launcing some small projectile which protruded from the breech opening. Barrel shape reminds me a bit of a 3 inch Ordnance Rifle.
