$595.00

Description

Original era manufacture. A very clean example of the standard 1860 pattern cavalry sword, with a 34.5 inch polished steel blade in original polish, with a 2.25 inch band of cross grain finish remaining on the base of the blade. The blade runs straight and true with zero issues. No makers mark or logo, however on the obverse of the ricasso a U.S. proof along with an 1864 date and inspector's initials of C.E.W. can be clearly seen. Original leather bumper at the base of the blade. Old brass patina finish to the guard with the inspector's initials of J.H. stamped into the top of the pommel cap. Original leather wrapped grip bound with a single strand of twisted brass wire. Near dent-free, steel bodied scabbard with two carrying rings, finished with an old tin or nickel surface plating.
