Major Heinz Ritter earned the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on April 20, 1945 as Hauptmann und Kommandeur of the II. Bataillon/ Grenadier-Regiment 70 of the 11. Infanterie-Division. The picture with signature comes with a newspaper article and note by Heinz and the envelop.
