Genuine American invasion armband executed in oilcloth picturing a 48-star American flag. Good and supple condition. As worn by the American paratroopers. Comes from an American veteran who wrote 'Worn on arm in the invasion of Africa nov. 1942'. These armband were worn by the 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment duringOperation Torch, the Allied invasion of North Africa, with the 2nd Battalion, 503rd PIR scheduled to take the lead and makethe first combat jump.
