WW1 French 1L Chasseur Waterbottle & Cup

A prewar issue 1L waterbottle of the French Chausseurs with dark blue cover matching that of their field uniform. French troops were only issued with the 1 Litre bottle prior to WW1 the 2 litre existed but were reserved for the Armee D'Afrique. Not long after the outbreak of WW1 when French troops were in heavy combat against an invading German army it was decided that the 2 Litre would be made standard issue hence the smaller versions as here can be regarded as true 1914 early war items. This example is in excellent condition with original brown shoulder strap with both corks & name label to bottom with soldiers name written on it.
