WW1 German M16 Camouflage Helmet

Straight out of the German trenches of WW1 this very large sized handpainted three colour M16 helmet has tan ochre , forest green & brown colour segments all divided by finger thick black lines as per the Ludendorff order of 1918. Very effectively camouflaged with these classic colours the helmet shows extensive trench wear with good strong colours overall. Marked to its rim underside with 'Q66' for the firm Quist it has much factory green paint remaining. Liner system still present & generally good with originsl tightening lace to pad holders. Front pad has at one time been detached but now held back in place with cotton twine for a better visual appearance.
