WW1 German Camouflage M17 Helmet Shell

A still impressive WW1 German helmet shell that has remains of what would have once been a very striking camouflage scheme with an artistic zig zagged tortoise shell pattern in multiple segments. The classic colours of tan ochre, reddish brown & green are evident with years of outbuilding storage in changing atmospheric conditions visible throughout. The M17 steel liner band is still fitted to its interior .
