WW1 German NCOs/One Year Volunteer Artillery Kugelhelme of Prussia

A private purchase Artillery NCOs / One Year Volunteer 'Kugelhelme' of Prussia with convex chinscales denoting this to be from a mounted regiment . A fine quality piece the front plate still retains much of its impressive gilt finish with brass fittings displaying fine age patina which matches throughout. The ball top denoting artillery ( hence the name Kugelhelme ) is removeable as shown & the chinscales denote mounted troops being convex rather than flat . The leather finish of the helmet is good showing fine correlating age to surface . Interior has a fine quality leather sweatband with silk crown & a green 'Prima Quilitat' paper sticker has a handwritten size '56 1/2' .
