Sold
$695.00

Description

Original period manufacture. Antique, six-shot, pin-fire pistol in 12 mm, a sound example of a popular, well made European pistol which saw service during the Crimea War, American Civil War, French Intervention in Mexico and the Franco-German War 1870-71 and elsewhere during the 19th century. Serial number 33408 stamped into the right side of the frame, a number which falls into the range (25,000-45,000) of 13,000 plus weapons imported into the United States during our Civil War, most seeing service primarily with the Cavalry in the Western theater of the war. Mechanically the pistol functions as it should, it indexes properly, and the half and full cock position work. The finish displays a nice mix of pleasing steel patina and original fire blue, with no pitting or corrosion visible. The loading gate is present however the securing latch is missing. US SALES ONLY, please be sure of the firearms laws in your state and municipality to make sure they allow you to own antique weapons like this. No FFL required.
