British WWI-WWII, Royal Navy Officers Sword & Knot, Shannon & Sons, Devenport

Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 31 inches in length, with etched panels on both sides decorated with naval motifs. The blade is bright overall, runs straight and true with issues. Shannon & Sons Devenport name on the ricasso. Gilded brass lion head pommel guard with a good deal of the original gilding remaining. The reverse side folds down to secure the sword in the scabbard. Fish skin wrapped grip bound with triple strand wire  Sound black leather bodied scabbard with intact stitching, complete with all brass fittings. The lower ring suspension fitting and the drag move a bit. The sword knot is a new replacement.
