US Korean War 1st Cavalry Division Silver Star Grouping

Sold
$350.00

Description

Original period manufacture. This grouping was recently purchased from a local shop who received it from the family of the veteran. Originally all of the contents were mounted in a large glass-covered frame, with the medals randomly mounted to the uniform. The lot includes the officers summer weight tan wool coat with 1st Cavalry SSI on the right shoulder, and a 6th Army SSI on the right. Above the upper left pocket is a very nice, theater made, 11 place ribbon bar with a silver wire embroidered CIB above. Slot brooch Silver Star, damaged Purple Heart, slot brooch Victory Medal and a newer production Korean Campaign medal, and a bag of extra cloth patches and insignia. Most importantly a copy of the Army citation for the Silver Star award is included. All of the items were removed from the frame by our seller as it was just too large for easy handling. No moth damage to the coat.
