Sold
$95.00

Description

Original era manufacture. All canvas construction of a pattern adopted in 1878. Well marked front for the 87th man of Company G, 49th Iowa Infantry. In June 1898 the 49th was transported by rail to Camp Cuba Libre in Florida, there they remained until the end of hostilities in August. Two officers and fifty-two enlisted men died of disease during that time. A well used example displaying staining to the fabric, especially on the bottom edge. One of the D-ring cloth loops is quite fragile.
