Japanese WWII Single Leg Wrap

Japanese WWII Single Leg Wrap- Leg wraps were called, “puttees”. Puttees were in common use with soldiery in the late 19th century and into WW2. Armies commonly issued tough leather shoes to soldiers but not boots. Puttees served to blouse the enlisted soldiers' lower trousers. It also helped keep the legs warmer in cold weather. And I'm certain was some protection against rough terrain and possibly snake bites. This is made of a black wool wrap that measures 90 inches long. It is 3 ¼ inches wide. The black wrapping tie is attached and measures 42 inches long. This is in excellent condition.
