Japanese WWII Army Field Grade Officers Dress Sword and Leather Knot

Original era manufacture. Japanese WWII Army Field Grade Officers dress sword. Chrome finished steel blade measures 29.5 inches in length with an imitation temper line on the blade edge. It runs straight and true with no nicks or corrosion issues. Gilded brass guard with an ornately decorated back strap indicating that the officer held the rank of Major to full Colonel. Black plastic wrapped grip bound with triple strand wire. On the sword at the time of our purchase is this very clean brown leather knot which is nicely wrapped around the guard. Chrome finished steel scabbard displaying denting and finish loss along it's length.
