US WWII Era, US Navy Officer, Ships Wheel Desk Ornament

Original era manufacture. A nicely made desk ornament which stands about 5 inches in height. The wheel and pedestal appear to be made of darkened brass with a miniature US Navy officers hat emblem set into the top of the pedestal. The bottom of the pedestal is screwed into the base which appears to be of dark orange material, with a thick felt covered bottom. Thin crack in the base, no chipping. Overall it appears to be of very good quality with some good age to it.
