Attic Condition Vet Bringback German FJ Helmet, Large Size

Sold
$4500.00

Description

This helmet was found in an attic where it sat since the war, weathering the conditions of the storage environment and age. It was a bringback by a 3rd Infantry Division vet from Worcester, Massachusetts, passed to the initial owner from the vet's son. The Shell is a later war product, with a fully intact liner and strap system (both are somewhat fragile but fully present). One rivet head is broken off but never turned, a rear rivet is a wartime replacement. The rough texture finish has an area of surface scale / patina that covers ~50% of the exterior. The helmet is otherwise 'dusty untouched' and complete. Large size 59 and well-marked FJs like this are scarce in any condition. Overall a great, collectible example of an 'as found' GI bringback. COA accompanies.
