Japanese WWII Late War Type 44 Officer's Katana

Original era manufacture. A clean 27 inch polished steel blade with minor staining and spotting to the surface, no nicks in the cutting edge, the point is quite sharp and there is no corrosion pitting.Simple oval shaped iron Tsuba, original brown cloth wrapping on the grip with two ordinary, darkened brass menuki set into the lacing. Darkened, unadorned pommel cap.Brown painted steel scabbard which is currently covered in a well-worn leather field cover. The drag is exposed revealing the tip of the scabbard.
