British WWI 1916 Pattern Trench Cap, Private Purchase

Original era manufacture. Olive wool rigid body cap with a matching material visor. Brown oilcloth cap lining with a wide brown leather sweatband, and olive silk side lining. The sweatband is securely sewn to the band of the cap. Considerable wear to the front edge of the visor, but no holes or fraying. Missing the side buttons and leather chinstrap. Gold wire embroidery on black wool Welsh Guards insignia sewn to the front of the cap, nice old insignia, but perhaps a collector replacement.
