Here on offer is fine example of a vintage enamel and chrome car badge, for The Royal Society of St George. The Society was established back in 1894 to promote the English way of life and Englishness. This a an early and rare example from the 1920's or early 1930's and has a member number 226 stamped on the reverse. It was manufactured by Spencer of London and their name is impressed on the back of the badge: SPENCER LONDON 226 The badge itself is in excellent/near mint condition with all the enamel in place. The Badge measures 3.25” (8.3cm) diameter and 4.5” (11.5cm) high including the mounting plate. It weighs 262g.
