Description

Full-length ribbon with gold wire woven ship's name which has some minor age-darkening / tarnish to some of the lettering otherwise excellent condition. Ships bearing this name have served with the Royal Navy for centuries. In World War 2 'HMS Hermione' was a Dido-class cruiser which was torpedoed and sunk in the Mediterranean by U205. The most recent vessel to bear the name is a frigate (F58) commissioned in 1969 and finally sold for scrap in 1997.
