Third Reich ; Waffen-SS Officers White-piped Service-cap (Reproduction).

I acquired this cap back in 1993 and although I regard it is an early reproduction incorporating some original parts I kept it for its appearance and quality. For anyone not wishing to pay ten times the price for an original cap, this one will fit the bill for you. Field-grey tricot material with black velvet cap-band with white piping around the crown and cap-band. Aluminium-alloy eagle and skull insignia. Black vulkanfibre peak with original WW2 silver wire chin-strap. The cap is lined with grey material and fitted with a brown leather sweat-band which is stamped / impressed 'Deutsche Industrie'. The sweat-shield bears the makers name of 'Spohn & Klaiber, Ulm a,D, Syrlinstr.23, Uniformen'. This company was one of the top quality producers of the finest uniforms in the Third Reich period.
