MILITARY DRUM - AMERICAN CIVIL WAR PAINTED DESIGN

An excellent example of a British military drum which has been hand painted with an American Civil War design. Brass drum with white rope tensioners and with top and bottom skins intact. Maker's name on one side. Front part of the drum hand painted with a large Union American Eagle design with banners painted 18th Regiment US Infantry and central shild painted Co E. The colours being red white and blue and are unfaded. No surface wear. This drum was painted in around 2003 by an expert signwriter and artist. Drum probably dates form the 1950's period and measures 14 inches in height with a diametre of 14 inches. Weight approximately 3.8 kgs.
