USA WW1 MEDICAL DRESSING VEST

Original Ww1 chest pouch vest to hold Medical Dressings. Tan cotton with 12 individual pockets with a smooth press stud on each flap. Canvas shoulder / neck strap and 4 cloth body tie tapes. Dated 1918 with maker's name on the rear. Unissued, Grade 10. NOTE: These are often identified as WW1 GRENADE VESTS. Whilst they may have seen use for this purpose, the sheer weight of 12 grenades in the pockets would have been impossible to operate with !
