24th Lancers Cap-badge.

Silver-plated King's crown badge with lugs & split-pin fixing on the reverse. Nice detailed striking. The 24th Lancers was a cavalry regiment that only existed from late 1940 to mid-1944. It was assigned to the 8th Armoured Brigade and only fought during the Invasion of Normandy after landing on D-Day +1. The regiment was disbanded in July 1944 and the regiment's personnel were sent as reinforcements to other cavalry regiments.
