Here on offer is a near mint example of a cased, 1910 large bronze medal awarded by the Royal Society of Arts Manufactures and Commerce, to Frank Stokes in 1921. It was Designed by Leonard Charles Wyon and the engraver was Edgar Bertram Mac Kennal. The medal was first cast in 1910 and has the image of George V on one side with the wording: GEORG V KING & EMPEROR PATRON MCMX On the other side it has the inscription within a laurel wreath, that reads as: FOUNDED 1754. INCORPORATED BY ROYAL CHARTER 1847. ROYAL SOCIETY OF ARTS MANUFACTURES AND COMMERCE Around the edge it has been stamped with the details of who the medal was awarded to: FRANK HERBERT STOKES, INTERMEDIATE EXAMINATIONS, 1921. BOOK-KEEPING. This finely detailed bronze medal is in near mint condition with nice age patina and comes with its original fitted black leatherette case. It measures 2.2” (5.5cm) diameter and weighs 75g. Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
