Large Antique Victorian Brass Vesta Case depicting a Monkey's Head with Fez Hat c1870

Here on offer is a large and charming antique Victorian brass vesta case, depicting a monkey's head wearing a fez hat, circa 1870. The vesta features the head of a wise monkey wearing a fez hat. The hat acts as the lid of the vesta and is hinged with a nice firm action. There is a striker plate embedded into the base and a ring and loop attached for hanging it from a watch chain. There are no visible marks on the item and it now has a wonderful aged patina finish to the brass. It is in excellent condition and makes a great addition to any vesta collection. It measures 2.4” (6cm) wide by 2” (5.2cm) high and 0.9” (2.2cm) thick. It weighs 32g. Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
