Antique Victorian Irish Blackthorn Shillelagh c1880

Here on offer is an original antique Victorian period Irish blackthorn shillelagh, circa 1880. This shillelagh is made from a piece of antique blackthorn and has a very large natural rounded top and a strong shaft, with a hole in the shaft for a lanyard. The wood now has age related dents and scratches but has a very dark patina to the wood, which makes me think it is an old Victorian period piece? It measures 18” (46cm) long and weighs a heavy 415g.
