Large 19th Century Ornate Antique Tribal Tibetan Silver Hinged Locket/Pendant

Here on offer is what I believe is an antique tribal Tibetan silver hinged locket or pendant. This large 2.6” diameter locket has been beautifully hand made to create a very ornately decorated repoussé worked, silver locket with a large hinged front opening panel. As is normal for such pieces there are no makers marks that I can see and it is hard to date, but I am led to believe it is most likely to be a late 19th century piece, made from a low-grade thin silver metal. It is in great condition for its age with some light dents on the plain back section. On the ornate domed lid, there are a few rubbed holes and a small split in the metal near the catch pin. The hinge on the lid is quite crude and means when the lid needs to be opened with care. When closed it does “rattle” slightly, but does stays closed. There is a suspension ring fitted at the top to allow it to be worn as a pendant. It measures 2.6” (6.7cm) diameter, 1.8” (4.5cm) thick and including the suspension ring measures 3.4” (8.7cm) long.
