Original WW1 Souvenir 0.303 Bullet Pencil from YPRES

Here on offer is an original WW1 souvenir 0.303 bullet pencil from YPRES, France. The 0.303 bullet pencil comprises of a short red pencil fixed inside a silver bullet, which tests as 925 grade silver, but may just be a thick silver plate? This fits VERY tightly into the neck of the brass (fired) cartridge case. You have to gently wiggle the bullet to get it free from the case. On the front is a small brass plaque depicting the arms of 'YPRES”, which retains good detail. The base of the fired cartridge case is inscribed 'C ' ' B', which I can't identify. There is a small dent on the case near the top and the pencil shows considerable use. With the pencil inserted, it measures 3.4” (8.6cm) long and weighs 16g.
