BRD - West German early Bundeswehr Folding Entrenching-tool (Schanzzeug) with Cover.

Folding entrenching-tool which most likely would have originally been Wehrmacht issue and used by the newly formed Bundeswehr in the 50s with an American-style leather & canvas-webbing carrier. Overall length of the opened tool is 69cms. Length when closed and in the carrier, 51cms. No markings or stamps visible other than 'Knip Hier' on the press-stud. The original dark-green painted finish is present but is worn through use. The paint may well cover any wartime markings. Overall a nice complete item
