BRD : Post-war Luftschutz-style Gladiator-type Helmet.

Not sure exactly what this is but it seems to be moulded from a grey painted plastic/fibreglass material in one piece. It has a German M31 pattern leather lining size-stamped '57-61' with the Bundeswehr-American fitting and a blue-grey webbing chinstrap which has an american-type quick-release metal buckle. The underside of the leather lining has a rectangular ink stamp containing illegible numbers. The inside surface of the helmet is painted off-white. The only stamps visible are on the webbing chinstrap and are 'Bund' plus a number. I believe it to be post-war German and could be fire-service or factory fire/security related. The lining is of the type used in early Bundeswehr American pattern steel helmets.
