Original Third Reich Issue of the SS educational Booklet - SS – LEITHEFT – January 1944

Many years ago I acquired a set of five original Third Reich issues of the SS educational periodical booklet: SS – LEITHEFT The five I have are late war 1944 issues, booklets 1 to 5, so January to May 1944. On offer here is issue - 10. JAHRGANG . HEFT 1, 1944 This translates to a 10th year issue for January 1944. They are also known as the “SS Leadership Magazine” and where published from 1934 to 1945. The goal of these educational periodicals was to teach the members of the SS (and Waffen-SS) the National Socialist ideology and also the ideology of the SS, the elite who watches over the purity of the German blood, German culture, the future of the German youth and the German way of life in general. The publisher was the SS-Hauptamt, the main office of the Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler and the printing was done by M. Müller and Sohn in Berlin. This issue has 48 pages and there is some staining to the edge on the pages inside. The front cover has some scratch marks and the double centre page has come detached but still sits perfectly in the booklet. The booklet measures 6.3” (16.2cm) by 9” (22.7cm) and weighs 80g.
