Green enameled gilt-metal small lapel badge of the VdH (Association of Returnees), a charitable organisation established in 1950 in West Germany to look after and assist German and Austrian prisoners-of-war returning from Soviet captivity. After upto ten years in Russian hands, many were returning homeless, jobless and in many cases to find wives re-married ! The reverse is fitted with a long knurled stickpin. Excellent condition.
