Rare early type Mine Rescue Service Decoration manufactured by The Prussian State Mint in fine silver and marked as such. Non pinned version. The Mine Rescue Service Decoration Type I was established in May 1934 by the Minister for Economy and Labour. The original name is Grubenwehr-Erinnerungszeichen. It was awarded to workers who had distinguished themselves in mine rescue work, or who had worked in mine rescuing for at least 15 years. There is limited information available about this rare award. Measures 45mm in diameter. Weighs 38.2g
