WW2 Women's Institute 'For Home and Country' Lapel-badge.

1940's 'National Federation of Women's Institutes' badge. Gilded brass oval 25mm x 20mm with 'WI' monogram in the centre. The red enamel rose depicts the British organisation and the Canadian maple leaf represents the mother organisation which began in Canada. The motto 'For Home / and Country' inlaid in green enamel. The reverse bears the maker's details 'W.O.Lewis (Badges) Ltd B'Ham'. Very good condition with brooch-pin fitting. Small flake to the enamel on the top scroll. Width 25mm. Height 20mm.
