Description

Original era manufacture. A well worn example of this famous award, presented during the reign of Louis Napoleon 1852-1870. Most of the blue enamel remains ontheobverse of the silver planchet, with the disc itself pivoting in the wreath. During the Crimean War, British and other Allied soldiers also received this award. These medals were worn in combat and during Napoleon's reign there were considerable occasions for it's awarding; Crimea, Italy, China, Mexico and of course the war with Germany 1870-1871. Complete with its original ribbon.
