Imperial : German Imperial Feuerwehr Side-arm for The Alsace-Lorraine Fire-service.

Available
£2100.00

Description

Extremely rare long dress-dagger/side-arm, 59cm overall length. Silver-plated fittings with a black ebony fluted grip, silver mounted black leather scabbard with a decorative frog-stud and unpolished steel blade. The blade bears the early squirrel trademark of Eickhorn, Solingen. All the silver plating has not been polished so retains a nice patina. The ebony grip is completely undamaged and the leather scabbard is in excellent condition with only a minor depression in the leather near the bottom. The blade has some minor staining but has no dings or damage. I have only seen one reference to this pattern of side-arm and that is on page 491 of John Angolia's 1988 book 'Swords of Germany 1900/1945' where he reprints the 1905 WKC catalogue. A very nice, very rare edged weapon. Payment by bank transfer or cheque only in view of high Paypal fees. BUYERS OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE ONLY. UK CUSTOMERS ONLY - I WILL NOT POST WEAPONS ABROAD.
