German WWII Heer Infantry Officers M1938 Overseas Cap

Original Period Manufacture.  Doeskin feldgrau wool body, with silver piping on the crown and turn up. Silver flat wire embroidered eagle which is hand stitched to the front of the hat, between the white cotton soutasche, is a bullion wire embroidered cockade.  Faded and worn white silk lining with a gray leather partial sweatband at front. Mothing to the top center of the hat and left top side. Overall the hat is a proverbial 'one looker', exhibiting honest service wear and use.
