Description

This nice condition helmet belonging to Captain Roderick Larken Moore has had a light coating of white finish, still bright with minimal marks, the folded blue RN pagri top has some fade. Inside again very clean with minimal foxing, clear makers details and marked by Moore with his initials . The green inner cloth is very bright with just some minor white from the outside finish, leather chinstrap is complete and supple. Top air vent is removable. The helmet comes with its ''japanned'' finished tin with Moore's name to the front and outfitters plate with some faded and ripped paper shipping labels. Included is the period padlock, sorry no key. There is plenty of information on Captain Moore on the internet, he was in the Gazette during WW1 after receiving a promotion for his solid action on board HMS Onslow during the Battle of Jutland. I've found one other mention in the 1945 Gazette for promotion to Captain and the award of his C.B.E. Im sure there is plenty more information to be had so a perfect research project if wishing. INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE COSTS AS THIS WILL HAVE TO BE CALCULATED DUE TO WEIGHT AND SIZE.
