German Imperial Era, Cavalry Officer Lionhead Sword & Knot, WKC

Original period manufacture. Plated steel  blade measuring nearly 35 inches in length, running straight and true.Ornate brass grip with a lionhead pommel, with red glass eyes. Black plastic wrapped grip, bound with three strands of wire in good repair.Wrapped around the grip is an original officers quality sword knot of leather with wire decoration. The leather shows typical fraying from wear but is as yet unbroken.Plated finish steel scabbard, of which about 90% remains, with both throat screws remaining intact, single suspension loop.
