US Indian Wars Era, M1872 Infantry Army Kepi

Original era manufacture. A private purchase quality hat, of regulation pattern. Dark blue body, with an unbound, black painted leather visor with leather chinstrap secured by two eagle buttons. Brown polished cotton lining with a brown leather sweatband, both are sound and securely attached to the hat body.  Red wool felt diamond on the crown, likely placed there by a Civil War 3rd Corps veteran. Sound original hat.
