German Pre-WWII Map Case

Sold
$100.00

Description

German Pre-WWII Map Case-Made of a high-quality black leather; this map case is very intriguing. There are markings on the metal snaps, with BOTH a U.S. patent and the Ges.Gesh. You can see similar markings on the early fire/police helmets, as the Germans were purchasing hardware from the United States early in the Third Reich Period. The leather on this case is a little stiff but not cracked and with some conditioning it would come back to life. It has hardly any scuffs or wear. The leather belt loops are in place on the reverse, there are metal clips attached to these that do have a small amount of rust. The finish remains mostly intact on the front closure clips. Overall, it is in very good condition.
