US WWI Doughboy Helmet, Complete, 102nd Rgt, 26th Yankee Division, Complete,

Sold
$350.00

Description

Original era manufacture. Standard US WWI steel helmet shell, with most of its rough combat finish remaining intact. Painted insignia of the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th (Yankee) Division on the front. Complete liner and chinstrap with adjusting tag instructions intact. Maker marked and dated under the oil cloth liner, L.C.C. & CO. 1917. The chinstrap has several names written on the leather, they are rather faint, but with some effort you might be able to make them out. A nice solid example of a unit that went to France in 1917.
