63rd of Foot QVC 1855 to 1861

Very nice set comprising a painted photograph in period gilt frame and an officer's French pattern gilt shako plate with 2 loops to reverse. Inscription to back of frame reads 'Richard Wm Barnardiston Crowther (afterwards 1874 Crowther-Beynon) b.1836 d.1878 was first in 63rd Regt. and later exchanged into 1st Royal Scots'. Frame has damage to top but when plate is mounted on the wires for hanging it is barely discernable. Good quality painting making a very nice display item. Plate has been very well regilded
