WW2 Cotton Reel Escape Compass

This is a typical 80 yard (dumpy) cotton real of the period made by J & P Coats. One end of the reel is labelled Super Sheen Fast Colour with color code 547. The label on the reverse has been partially lifted to reveal a small compass measuring approximately 9mm in diameter, embedded within the shaft.
