WW2 1939 Dated Fishermans Priest?

Sold
£85.00

Description

Purchased from a gentleman at a car boot sale who thought it was a Fishermans Priest. I am not a fisherman but I don't believe there would not be much fish left after using this! This is actually the helve of a British entrenching tool, with what I believe to be cricket shoe spikes. The grip appears to be constructed of a leather shoe lace(s). The helve is stamped 1939 B&H. I personally believe it to be some form weapon similar to what was used in the trenches during WW1.
