Georgian Third West York Militia Officers Shoulder Belt Plate

Extremely scarce SBP dating to around 1797-8. Gilded back plate Silver strap surmounted by a lions head with the strap containing the words Third West York Militia. Yorkshire double rose in silver to centre, Original leather backing to rear. They were also known as the Ist Regiment of Militia and also The Third West Yorkshire Light Infantry. Sold with a copy of the Standing Orders of the Third West York Militia by B Cooke.
