Rare Southern Ireland Imperial Yeomanry Slouch Hat Badge.

A rare Boer War era heavy gauge solid brass slouch hat badge of the Sothern Ireland Imperial Yeomanry. Formed as an Imperial Yeomanry regiment in 1902 as the South of Ireland Imperial Yeomanry during the end of Boer War. It transferred to the Special Reserve (Cavalry) in 1908 and was renamed as the South Irish Horse. This badge is in very good used condition, but 2 lugs have been replaced with a long slider, measuring 1.75 inches wide. Ref. D53
