Description

Superb early HLI Officers Plate and Baldric. Scarce to find a complete cross belt with plate and sword straps. The Officers initials in ink on the back of the ACGM 71st Highlanders. This was Arthur Cecil Graham-Montgomery Born Stobo Castle (Borders in January 3rd 1858 the son of Graham Graham-Montgomery 3rd Bt (The Grandson of the Colonel of the Peebleshire Yeomanry Cavalry.) He enlisted as Ensign in the 71st Highlanders in 1877 and then was Lieutenant when the regiment amalgamate with the 74th in 1881. He died in 1887. Seeded Gilt Backplate Gilt excellent on this a four point silver star and St Andrews Cross on this in silver the bugle horn. In Gilt the imperial crown Scroll 'Assaye', Elephant and HLI monogram to centre.
